Description

Camp Gilroy is nestled on the shore of Wollaston Lake in cottage country. The Camp is three-quarters cleared with 3 designated campsites, and one-quarter wooded with hiking trails. The sand beach with dock allows for great swimming and canoeing on this large, interesting lake. This camp would be ideal for environmental studies on the shore or in the wooded area.

There is one cabin containing a dining room and a kitchen with two fridges, stove, and a microwave. The dining room can be used as a sleeping area. Water may been drawn from the Pump and treated or potable water may be obtained from the public tap on the municipal garage on Wollaston Lake Road (passed on way to camp). There is a large covered picnic shelter with picnic tables adjacent to the cabin. The two privies are 20 m from cabin.

The camp opened in 1955 with a 99 year lease from a family. The camp closed in 2021 when a staff member ended the lease and it could not be renewed.
