Description

Wilcox Conservation Area is also known informally as Camp Wilcox. Years ago, Dr. Frank Wilcox owned this land and allowed 32nd Toronto Scout Group to use it. In 1960, he moved away and donated the land to Credit Valley Conservation Authority. In return, the 32nd Toronto was given right of use of the land in perpetuity for its camps.

The land is open to the public for day use in accordance with rules posted on a sign by the gate. There is no parking lot or other facilities. Users must climb over the gate. Fires are not permitted. Overnight use is currently restricted to 32nd Toronto.

The site used to include a cabin. It was closed in the mid-1990s and removed in 2003 as it had been deemed a liability for insurance purposes.
