Camp Rock Dunder is not open for camping. The information on this page described what it was like when it was a Scout camp.

Camp Rock Dunder is a wooded wilderness camp with two kilometres of shoreline on Whitefish Lake in the Rideau Lakes. The main feature is Rock Dunder, one of the highest points of land in the Kingston area. Those who hike to the top of the rock are rewarded with a dramatic view of the Rideau System. The camp is an environmentally sensitive area due to a stand of rare pitch pines.

There are three heated cabins, two of which are heritage squared timber structures relocated to the camp from the Ottawa Valley. The historic Jones Falls Dam and lock station is located nearby. These make an interesting stop after your visit to the camp.

In March 2006, the camp was sold to the Rideau Waterway Land Trust who intend to preserve the property as part of the United Nations-designated "Thousand Islands — Frontenac Arch Biosphere Reserve".
