Attawandaron is located in Carolinian oak forest along the Ausable Cut, an artificial channel that rerouted the Ausable River. The camp is adjacent to the southern boarder of Pinery Provincial Park in an area of sand dunes close to Lake Huron. The park, which can be accessed from the camp, has a network of trails, an interpretive Centre, and programs such as an interpretive night hike.

Beaver Lodge has a kitchen, dining hall, and 24 bunks (no mattresses). There are also several group cabins available. Water is from the municipal water supply.

Burr Lodge features a large dining room, kitchen, and washrooms with sleeping accommodation for 19 (no mattresses).

Nearby Burr Lodge are two Adirondack circles. Each circle has six Adirondacks that accommodate six people each.
