Description	Canoe base on the Rideau River inside Ottawa. Grassy field with small sandy beach right where the Rideau River becomes Mooney's Bay. For many years, Base Rideau was leased from the National Capital Commission for about $100 per year. In 2002, the NCC increased the rent to over $10,000 per year. Scouts Canada decided not to renew the lease and the land was sold to a developer. Private homes now stand on much of the site.
